Square cases have always been a risky proposition throughout the history of watchmaking, as they didn’t always appeal to as many customers as traditional round cases often felt more natural.

First of all, it’s a design issue: the basic components of any watch movement are the wheels. The wheels are of course round. Therefore, the movement is usually circular. Thus, the round case of pocket watches and later watches was a natural progression. However, with the rise of the Art Deco movement in the early 20th century, square cases began to appear, starting with the Cartier Santos in 1904.

But Hublot decided to take the plunge and use a holistic design approach to create a square copy watch that contains all the elements needed for a coherent Hublot product. The result is a well-balanced Hublot Square Bang collection.

There are a few reasons why Hublot’s new Square Bang collection really hits the mark. First, as mentioned, the circular Unico chronograph movement is visible from both the front and back of the 42mm case, which provides a pleasing sense of proportions. At the same time, the “sandwich” structure of the dial gives the new Square Bang a sense of depth that almost resembles a 3D architectural model.

Next, the six screws on the Square Bang’s bezel are not only functional, but are in the same location as the original Big Bang. While the location of these screws may not seem important to the design, their location is actually a key element as it ties together Hublot’s past and present design codes.

Finally, the “Chocolate Square” decoration on the new “One Click” replaceable rubber strap is a small and cool detail that further emphasizes the styling of the collection. replica watches price
