Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 200m Diver SBGH289 and SBGH291

Two new classic diving watches with typical GS specifications.

Although fake Grand Seiko has recently been focusing on the development of the Spring Drive movement and a slightly updated design language oriented towards nature-check out the powerful White Birch for a good example of this strategy-the brand is also a reliable supply of sports Commercial watches, including highly sturdy dive watches. Today, the brand released two new classic watches in its sports watch series, equipped with Hi-Beat automatic movements and typical GS specifications. Meet the new Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 200m Diver SBGH289 and SBGH291.

Grand Seiko is certainly no stranger to the diving watch category, and has been researching around this concept for many years. It even offers some truly impressive models, such as SBGH255 and SBGH257, or recently SLGA001 with the new Spring Drive movement. Today’s watches are not so practical, and are more of what we call classic recreational diving watches. Slightly less sturdy, slightly less heavy, but still perform well underwater, or just wear casual clothes on weekends. In fact, if you look back at the recent history of the brand, these new 200m Diver SBGH289 and SBGH291 are likely to be the automatic counterparts of the famous Spring Drive SBGA231, because it brings back most of the design clues, but with a different movement.

The case of these new Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 200m is relatively large, 43.8 mm, and sturdy in shape, which is a typical representative of the brand’s sports watches. It has strong shoulders and protruding lugs, combined with brush surface and polished (Zaratsu polished, of course) accents. The case is equipped with all the equipment required for recreational diving, including the crown guard, screw-in case back, screw-in crown, and is water-resistant to 200 meters.

But in addition to these classic specifications, it also has interesting parts, such as a unidirectional bezel with black polished ceramic inserts and a 60-minute scale. Please note that the bezel has a four-part design for easy disassembly and reassembly at the Grand Seiko Service Center to keep the watch clean after diving. It is also equipped with sapphire crystal glass, and the deep notch on the bezel ring makes it easy to grasp.

As mentioned earlier, there are two versions of the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 200m Diver launched today. The difference is not only the color of the dial. The first model SBGH289 is equipped with a stainless steel case and bracelet, and a dark blue dial. Another version is SBGH291, which uses a titanium case and a matching bracelet to make the wrist light, durable and comfortable. It has a black dial with a gold GS logo. As you can see, the two cases are slightly different in texture and color.

The dial is simple and typical, a typical feature of a dive watch, taking into account legibility and contrast. It has a large application index, which is the same as the discontinued SBGA231. The same is true for the pointers, each with its own unique design to ensure that the time can be read easily and without error. All elements are mostly filled with LumiBrite, which contrasts sharply with the dark matte blue or matte black background. The framed date window at 3 o’clock complements the display. cheap replica watches

Below the screw-in back cover is the 9S85 self-winding movement, which is characterized by high-frequency vibrations of 5Hz or 36,000 times per hour. After being fully wound, it can provide a power reserve of 55 hours, and after fine adjustment, the claimed accuracy range is -3 to +5 seconds/day (fully in line with timekeeping standards).

As mentioned earlier, the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 200m Diver SBGH289 and SBGH291 are equipped with metal bracelets, respectively stainless steel or grade 5 titanium. 3 The chain link design and the combination of brushed and polished surface are classic, and are closed by a folding buckle, and the diving extension can be adjusted.
