On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the SKULL series, Bell & Ross launched the brand new BR 01 CYBER SKULL, which interprets the art of skulls in a modern way. Read on to learn more about avant-garde timepieces.
In 2009, the famous BR 01 SKULL watch issued by Bell & Ross, who broke the tradition and explored the new world, represents the fusion of high-end horology, art and design. The Bell & Ross SKULL series was inspired by the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. They emerged from the night during the Normandy landing in 1944. Their jumpsuits wore badges and skulls on them. : Falling from the sky.
Adhering to this experience and the courage of outstanding military personnel, Bell & Ross announced the launch of its fourth batch of SKULL series-the new Bell & Ross CYBER SKULL. This new timepiece reproduces the artistic spirit of the skull watch, with contemporary and modern design aesthetics. It represents a view of SKULL art born in the 20th century and in the future. From BR01 SKULL (2009), BR 01 BURNING SKULL (2016) to the most recent BR 01 LAUGHING SKULL (2018), each watch in the series combines watchmaking, design, symbolism and Bold creativity.
Early models used traditional methods, but the 2020 BR 01 CYBER SKULL has a breakthrough, and has a modern style of avant-garde and futurism. The new model is carved like a stealth aircraft, full of sharp edges and cut sides, reminiscent of “stealth” fighters such as the F117. CYBER SKULL is made of black frosted ceramics, establishing a new design language with sharp structure and cut edges. The 45 mm case is different from the usual round and curved cases in the past, but is creative and meticulously carved.
The “skull and crossbones” on the BR 01 CYBER SKULL dial use the same method, that is, exposing sharp edges on different sides. The skull almost looks like a futuristic origami, with geometrical edges and corners, thus creating a multifaceted approach and pixelated effect. The crystal mirror dial and black ceramic dial further prove the future design of the Review watch. What makes the dial more attractive is the dynamic hem, which seems to be floating, which is magnified in the middle of the earless multi-faceted case.
The BR 01 CYBER SKULL is attached to a black rubber strap and is driven by a mechanical BR-CAL 206. To maintain the perfect display of the exquisite craftsmanship of the skull, the movement is designed so that it cannot be seen. How did they do it? This has been made possible by using the main board to closely follow the shape of the skull while extending the bridge to the four corners of the shell (hidden by the tibia).
