Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59, launched last year, has become one of the brand’s most prolific series. Now, ten new works have been added to the first collection, including 13 models, including time/date, chronograph, perpetual calendar, automatic flying tourbillon, skeleton tourbillon and Supersonnerie minute repeater. The 10 new models include dual-tone 18k white gold and rose gold, as well as new smoked dials in a variety of colors, including deep red, purple and gray. The two-tone gold case is extremely rare in the history of Audemars Piguet watches. Of the 550 watches produced and sold between 1882 and 1969, only eight instances combined two types of gold. 11.59 is more sporty and avant-garde than traditional formal watches, but better-dressed than the brand’s flagship Royal Oak. The narrow bezel makes the case look larger than its 41mm size, and provides ample space for the dial to maintain an open, simple appearance even with multiple functions. Slender hands and index fingers emphasize the spare appearance. The Arabic font is derived from the font used in the AP Minute Repeater in the 1940s. The box is polymorphic. The frame is round, but the strap is octagonal, making it more angular, similar to the shape of Royal Oak’s frame and hexagonal screws. The same screws are used on the 11.59 lugs. The supporting ears are hollowed out.

The two-tone model emphasizes the contrast between the front and back of the round case and the middle of the case, which is further distinguished by the combination of polishing and brushing. The colorful dials are painted in a smoky style-from the center of the case to the outside, they gradually darken from light to dark, both retro and modern.
