In short, the Grand Seiko Elegance 4 Seasons GMT series is like a Grand Seiko “Best of” quartet. It has all the elements that we attach great importance to in watchmaking. Attention to details, practical functions, superb processing level, and of course an interesting start-up action. Considering that this series contains 4 references, all inspired by natural elements related to the passage of 4 seasons, each dial is very cute. Divided into two pairs, Hi-Beat Automatic Shunbun SBGJ251 and Shosho SBGJ249 represent spring and summer, while Spring Drive Kanro SBGE271 and Toji SBGE269 are inspired by autumn and winter. Inspired by Japanese architecture, Grand Seiko Elegance SBGW267 and SBGW269 are the more refined side of Grand Seiko, but equally spectacular. The elegant case with a very ingenious texture dial looks very eye-catching. Based on the simple manual winding SBGW231, this pair can be regarded as a Japanese Calatrava style watch. The use of light and shadow is very important in Japanese architecture, which reflects the duo. The subtle texture on the dial is inspired by the texture of the shoji paper used in the screen door. It was applied to two distinct colors, and the results were surprising. The dial is curved, with a slight gradient in dark brown or bright silver. The Grand Seiko Masterpiece Spring Driven SBGZ007 is one of the most spectacular watches of the brand we have ever seen. This masterpiece is once again inspired by Japan, with details drawn from the nature and environment surrounding Grand Seiko. The dial is made into a starry night sky, exquisitely beautiful. The platinum case is decorated with star-shaped hand-cut grooves, and each groove is individually polished by hand. Then there is the icing on the cake, the manual winding Calibre 9R02 Spring Drive movement. In addition to technical aspects, such as the torque return system, the finishing is done manually using traditional techniques.
