Richard Mille RM 56 series-unique elegance

As watch lovers, watch nerds, or anyone you want to call readers of the collector circle blog; from day one, we have fallen in love with replica Richard Mille watches. The brand was founded in 1999, but it competed fiercely with 19th-century high-end watchmakers such as Patek Philippe (1839), Audemars Piguet (1875) and Rolex (1905).

This Swiss watch company based in Les Breuleux has produced many amazing timepieces in the past. In this article, we want to show you the Richard Mille RM 56 series in detail. In 2011, this watch manufacturer introduced a milestone in watchmaking technology to the world-RM56 (limited edition of 5 pieces). The entire case (front bezel, strap and back bezel) and the complex movement are made entirely of pure sapphire crystal.

Two years later, in 2013, Richard Mille launched the RM 56-01, which was also limited to 5 pieces. In addition to the stunning sapphire movement and case, the brand also added a sapphire crystal base plate and a sapphire crystal-viola to the center bridge and the third round, and the RM 56-01 was born. According to Richard Mille, it takes 40 days for the machine to produce just the sapphire crystal case of a watch.

Driven by his mentality to shoot stars, Richard Mille launched the latest RM 56-02 of the RM 56 series in 2014. This high-end brand has added a new movement to the watch, and some parts inside the movement have been optimized for greater transparency (see the picture below). In addition, the restriction of the RM 56-02 model has been increased because 10 units have been manufactured. The sapphire used in the RM 56 watch is made by placing aluminum oxide crystals (Al2O3) in a high-pressure and high-temperature environment. Did you know that the hardness of the sapphire used is 1800 Vickers (9 Mohs hardness), so it can almost prevent scratches on materials other than diamonds?

It’s crazy to think of Richard Mille’s hard work and passion for the watch industry. Over the years, Richard Mille’s innovations have been exciting (check out our previous blog post on Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1). Technological innovation and the constant pursuit of perfection and progress are what connect McLaren and Richard Mille in common, which is why the two companies have joined forces to create the lightest mechanical chronograph RM 50-03 in history. Although the brand is often criticized for its high prices, it seems that only those who have not seen how much work the brand puts into its work will say so. Only the research and development of the materials used is much higher than other brands (the price of each piece for customers is almost the same).

The collector circle loves Richard Mille’s experimental thinking and the innovations they share with us year after year. We can’t wait to see what materials will be used in the future and what a possible successor to RM56 will look like.

Good job, Richard Miller. Keep chasing stars.

What we like about this watch:
Sapphire is used to make RM 56 series watch cases and part of the material used in watch movements. It is one of the hardest materials on earth. In addition, due to its molecular structure, the material is transparent and has strong scratch resistance.
