Lishi transformed two of the most complex watches into cosmic messengers, with a brand-new Galaxy theme, striking blue PVD components and a transparent sapphire case. Le Locle watchmakers reworked and reconfigured the components of the existing Defy Zero G and Defy 21 Double Tourbillon, creating stunning contemporary limited editions for each watch.
Challenge Zero Gravity Sapphire
In this update, Zenith brings space travel to the wrist through a miniature mosaic depicting Mars on the dial. Hand-made using meteorites, aventurine glass and miniature paintings, the red planet is visible on the small seconds hand, and the hour and minute dials are partially eclipsed.
Zenith finished the motherboard and bridge in blue tones, with contrasting metallic gray chamfers, dotted with white stars. The wearer can also see this space-inspired finish on the cylindrical container of the movement, which can be seen through the side of the case. Zenith also rebuilt the movement with a more modern architectural outline, which took up 30% less space than the original movement.
You may remember the El Primero 8812 S manual movement and gimbal when Defy Zero G is equipped with Zenith, which keeps the balance wheel and hairspring in a flat position and overcomes the influence of gravity on the timekeeping accuracy of the watch (see the full specifications below) List).
Defy 21 Double Tourbillon Sapphire
Zenith engraves the stars on the dial of the new Defy 21 Double Tourbillon Sapphire Watch, and reveals a new blue main plate (first created by Zenith) through its skeletonized dial. This watch is still known for its two independent tourbillons. One rotates every 60 seconds at 36,000 vph (for timing), while the second rotates every five seconds at 360,000 vph to adjust the chronograph.
The 20 owners of these two new watches can take advantage of Zenith’s special offers to enhance their galaxy experience. The watchmaker cooperated with Novespace, a subsidiary of the French National Space Center, to provide each owner with a parabolic zero-gravity flight, scheduled for next February at the Novespace facility in Bordeaux.
