Richard Mille RM 50-04 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Kimi Raikkonen

Richard Mille and his partners showed off the RM 50-04 Tourbillon Minutes and Seconds Chronograph.

With this new and exclusive timepiece, the Swiss brand pays tribute to the F1 world champion driver and his current team Alfa Romeo. The Calibre RM 50-04 developed for this model is extremely delicate, equipped with a double split-second chronograph tourbillon and a grade 5 titanium and carbon TPT movement. Due to its fine hollow structure, it weighs only 7 grams.

To combine these complex functions in a single mechanism requires perfect energy transmission to ensure trouble-free operation. In order to reduce friction, the research team improved the tooth profile on the barrel and second wheel pinion. This high-tech movement is equipped with the latest generation of split needle device developed by Richard Mille engineers.

The new column wheel can operate the different levers of the rattrapante function and optimize the operation of the chronograph. Previous Richard Mille chronographs traditionally used 8-column wheels, while the chronograph equipped with RM 50-04 only had 6 columns to ensure optimized synchronized movement, maximum functional locking and greater adjustment durability.

The case size is 44.50 x 49.65 x 16.10 mm, made of quartz TPT and carbon TPT, and uses the same color as the Alfa Romeo C38 single seat. The unique appearance of the white quartz TPT material is achieved by sandwiching 600 silicon layers (each layer 45 microns thick) and impregnating them with a white matrix, and then heating to 120 °C in an autoclave. This process makes the material have a very high resistance/weight ratio, non-allergenic and excellent UV resistance.

This technology was developed by North Thin Ply Technology and is also used in the middle of carbon TPT, but this time it uses carbon fiber. The red echo can also be seen in the movement, especially on the carbon fiber TPT flange, chronograph disc, and power reserve, torque and function indicators. fake luxury watches

The grade 5 titanium dial also contains the number 7, which Kimi wore during the competition. The combination of these technical solutions gives this complex part excellent resistance, and an impact force of 5,000 grams has been tested internally.

The 70-hour power reserve indicator at 11 o’clock is visually balanced with the torque indicator at 2 o’clock. The torque indicator provides information about the tension of the mainspring, thereby optimizing the chronograph function of the movement. Below 53 Nmm (Newton millimeters), the spring is considered too loose, and above 65 Nmm, excessive tension in the spring can adversely affect the operation of the mechanism or actually endanger it.

In a similar way to a car gearbox, the function indicator at 4 o’clock can see the winding (W), neutral (N) and manual setting (H) positions when the crown is pulled out.

Thanks to the use of two nitrile rubber O-rings, the Richard Mille RM 50-04 Tourbillon Minutes and Seconds Chronograph Kimi Raikkonen is limited, and water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet.
