The precision chronometer inside and on the wrist of the new Panamera.
Cars and Review luxury watches are always closely connected: they are both dedicated to precision, detail and style, the same mechanical power (of course, watches use less fuel), and they both arouse similar passions and emotions. Hobbyists in one industry prefer another industry than others. When it comes to Porsche Design, these connections can no longer be deepened. This is not just the logo on the dial; it goes far beyond the brand. The latest proof is reflected in the new Porsche Design Sport Chrono Sub Second and the new Porsche Panamera…
Since the advent of the Porsche Design watch, the car has been its main source of inspiration. It sounds obvious, but reminders will never hurt you. For example, Porsche Design’s Chronograph I (the brand’s first watch launched in 1972) was inspired by the instrument panel of the Porsche 911, which features a matte black dial, pure white hands and pointers, and a central red that mimics the tachometer. The second hand. All in all, the basic functions, instrumentality and harmonious design are derived from its basic functions, which are in full compliance with the philosophy of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.
By 2020, Porsche has launched a new version of its Panamera with improved aesthetics and a modern interior-plus some technical updates to improve efficiency. The most important thing today is the so-called “sports timing kit.” In addition to a sharper chassis, more sensitive engine and gearbox settings, and larger exhaust, this optional feature also includes a clock on the dashboard, which can be used as a timer. The 2020 Panamera first appeared in Porsche cars, including an exclusive observatory designed by Porsche, equipped with high-quality metal dials, ceramic hour markers and hands made by Super-LumiNova. With its unparalleled design, you can now use the clock in your car, and it would be nice to have the same look on your wrist… Porsche Design swiss Sport Chrono Sub Second solves the problem.
This new model is based on the familiar architecture of the 1919 series and its iconic minimalist shell design. Faithful to the philosophy of F.A. Porsche, every shape or element has its reason for existence. Therefore, the shape of this watch is different from other products on the market. It starts with a sleek cylindrical central container. The rest are designed to increase resistance, strength, and at the same time (mainly) ergonomics. The watch case is integrally formed as a homogeneous piece that conforms to the curvature of the wrist, with hollow lug modules, so that the central watch case is actually a floating watch case. Well-designed works have a sense of existence and personality.
In the new Sport Chrono Sub Second, the case is made of titanium-an iconic material designed by Porsche. The brand uses grade 5 titanium and contrasting finishes, as well as alternating surfaces that are sandblasted and polished. Overall, it adds a restrained and luxurious feel to the watch. The diameter of the case is 42 mm and the height is 12.25 mm. The volume is not small, but considering the ergonomics, its shape is designed. Other specifications include a screw-down crown and a sturdy titanium back to provide a comfortable 100m waterproof performance.
As for the dial, Porsche Design Sport Chrono Sub Second is undoubtedly Porsche, building a bridge between the automobile and the watchmaking industry. “From the dashboard to the wrist” is meaningful here, and its design is the same as the clock in the new Panamera, including the small second layout-this is a new feature of the brand. The center of the dial is frosted round, with pure white markings and tracks to improve clarity. The pointer and index finger have a fairly large SLN, and the overall appearance is fully functional, clean but still eye-catching and elegant.
The watch has three flavors: classic black dial on black strap; black strap. Modern and stylish blue dial on blue strap; warm brown dial on brown strap. Please note that the belt is closed by a titanium alloy folding buckle, made of Porsche genuine leather, and looks amazing.
Who said that the new display implies a new mechanism? Indeed, Porsche Design Sport Chrono Sub Second has launched a new movement WERK 03.200, which is an automatic movement that has obtained COSC certification. It runs at a frequency of 4 Hz, has a power reserve of 38 hours, and displays hours, minutes, small seconds and date on a disc that matches the dial, displayed at 3 o’clock. Even if it is invisible, it also has a Porsche Design icon rotor.
