On the first day of 2017, I wanted to show one of the most spectacular watches I have ever seen-Jacob & Co.’s Astronomia Tourbillon. Before this watch, I was speechless, please watch the demo video, I will provide information later.
Before I begin to introduce information about this stellar beast, I want to ask you, if possible, check out this watch. You will never regret it.
The first display is an 18K rose gold case with a diameter of 50 mm, a thickness of 25 mm, and a sapphire hole on the side to provide a complete view. The case back is wound and timed by two rotatable “bows” in 18K rose gold.
The sky layer is made of pure gold star stone and 18K rose gold. The top crystal is a sapphire with a special dome anti-reflective treatment.
Visible from the front: the hour and minute dials, which rotate on the central axis for 20 minutes, and the moon formed by faceted spherical diamonds (1 carat cut 288 faceted diamonds-an exclusive patent of Jacobs) rotates at 2 in 60 seconds On the axis, the magnesite globe rotates on 2 axes for 60 seconds, and the gravity tourbillon cage rotates on 3 axes: 60 seconds on the first axis, 5 minutes on the second axis, and 20 minutes on the third axis-the central axis. The Jacob&Co logo is printed on the cage of the tourbillon-it feels good to the touch, not to destroy the background of Aventurin with writing. This makes possible the patented differential gear system.
The dial is made of magnesium, which is an uncommon choice for dials, but helps balance the weight of the gear system. At 12/3/6 and 9 o’clock, there are painted Roman numerals. The hands are dark blue, slanted and polished.
This swiss replica watch is specially made with Jacob & Co. exclusive manual winding movement: JCAM10-three-axis gravitational tourbillon with a flat balance spring. The movement has a diameter of 40mm, a height of 17.15mm, 365 parts, 42 jewels, and a 60-hour power reserve (low beat frequency: 21600 vph or 3 Hz)-impressive.
As expected, the surface effect is impressive: handmade angle steel and polished plates and bridges, all with side brushed, round textures and polished sinks. The screws have been polished, the barrel has a round texture, and the pinion used is conical. As the bearings, 4 mechanical ball bearing devices are used. The main material used is titanium-making the movement very strong, but because titanium is much harder than gold or steel, it is difficult to manufacture.
The 18K white gold version has the same characteristics as the rose gold version, the only difference is white gold.
For those who like a little bling, here is the astronomical tourbillon baguette.
The background and lugs of this version are filled with 16 carats, 342 baguette diamonds-invisible set. This version is made of 18k series rose gold.
The 18k rose gold version uses orange sapphires as the background and diamond lugs, and the other 9 pieces of 18k rose gold use only orange sapphires.
In addition, the 18k rose gold series is made with ruby baguette as the background and diamond lugs, and the 18k rose gold pieces in the other series only contain rubies.
White gold is set with only diamonds, with diamonds and sapphires, and only with sapphires.
18K white gold is used as the case material and processed by black DLC to make 18 special series. The result is a mysterious appearance.
